After completing my scholarship, I joined the Digital Systems team full-time whilst continuing my studies as a Software Engineer at UTS. Building upon my projects during my internship and the knowledge gained in my investigations of Unreal Engine, I continued and completed my flight simulator using a combination of Varjo XR, Streamed Terrain Generation, Google's Protocol Buffers, MQTT and the Unreal Engine API.Currently, my responsibilities include:- On-boarding new Software Engineering and Mechatronic Engineers.- Corresponding with colleagues overseas for a globally-focused effort.- Creating and standardising documentation practices within our development environment.- Procedural ocean generation.- Accurate weather and celestial body rendering within a geographically accurate environment.

Joined the Thales Digital Systems team as a result of receiving the Thales Junior Scholarship Award, a 6-month, full-time internship opportunity to work within the Avionics team!During my time as an intern, my responsibilities and the projects I worked on included:- Research and development into the use of Unreal Engine in our next generation of simulations.- Creating a multi-frustum display using Unreal Engine's nDisplay to connect multiple nodes within a network to render a coherent image of 180 degrees horizontal FOV and 40 degrees vertical FOV.- Memory and performance profiling on our simulations to maintain strict performance requirements.- Developing a flight simulator making use of the Varjo XR headset to create a high fidelity, mixed reality experience.

Initially the responsibility of my role revolved predominantly around transporting patients from their ward to their appointments.Later, this responsibility transitioned to transporting patients to the surgical theatre and then finally, preparing, sanitising and taking patients directly into the theatre.Although this role was not technical, it taught me how to communicate compassionately with patients and work within high-pressure, emergency environments.

Receptionist at my local medical practice during the height of administering COVID vaccinations.During my time there, I aimed to utilise my skills as a new Software Engineering student to automate processes and reduce paper usage. My responsibilities included:• Automating the on-boarding process for new patients using SurveyMonkey, Java, Best Practice, SQL and Selenium API.• Introducing and implementing the use of e-signatures within our proprietary software, Best Practice.• Managing phone calls, organising medical documents and patient information.Through this role I learned the importance of seeking innovation and optimising workplace practices, in this instance, through automation.

Experienced and fast-paced landscaper specialising in planting thousands of plants per business day on large construction sites.Responsibilities included:• Managing a crew of landscapers and organising targets for the day.• Planting thousands of plants per day on construction sites.• Laying up to 1000m^2 of turf per dayBesides learning how to be an effective landscaper and how to take care of a garden, I learned how to operate consistently in a physically intense and mentally arduous environment. In addition this, leading a team of motivated and passionate individuals in a way that enabled them to perform at their best and surpass designated KPIs.

First internship during my time as a Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Technology Sydney.My responsibilities included:• Liaising with clients to identify project requirements, needs and constraints.• Assessing architectural drawings of proposed infrastructure developments within Australia (both residential and commercial) and calculating their thermal efficiency.• Comparing thermal efficiency of proposed infrastructure against certification standards such as BASIX and NABERS.

Entertaining customers while simultaneously crunching large numbers for payouts, managing the table and maintaining the integrity of patrons and the casino.This was my first taste of an extremely fast-paced environment under lots of pressure and scrutiny from clients and supervisors.
