Strategy & Research Agenda Making:I lead strategy and the organization-wide research agenda for digital culture at the national institute for architecture, design, and digital culture in the Netherlands. I drive discourse formation and multidisciplinary knowledge development within the entire digital, algorithmic, and computational cultures field on behalf of the Instituut. Policy:Along with these responsibilities, I am also a main contributor to digital cultures policy, where I translate opportunities for the Nieuwe Instituut into initiatives for the further development of concepts, themes, research lines, and projects in and around digital, algorithmic, and computational cultures.Curatorship & Publications:As part of my role, I translate research into the preparation and compilation of specific artistic productions toward specific research target groups by providing substantiation for exhibition projects, as well as publishing and disseminating research findings. Networks and Collaboration:I also establish and maintain relationships and cooperation partners, whilst representing the Nieuwe Instituut and research projects nationally and internationally.Budget & Plan Development:Next, I develop plans of action, research budgets, and funding requests for substantive (sub)projects in and around digital culture.

As a member of UCL’s contemporary art team I identify research and teaching strategies at the intersection of art, race and technology. My courses include: “Black Aesthetics: Theory and Artistic Practices” and “Black Poetics: History and Theory of Poetry and Performance in the African Diaspora.” In this role, I plan and lead research projects to completion while leveraging partnerships across industry, government and academia to improve the lives of underrepresented communities. In this role, I consulted with clients on product content strategy. In addition, I helped clarify thematic issues relating to algorithmic bias and inclusion.

As a product quality engineer, I worked in collaboration with external partners, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve quality issues, yielding operational cost improvements. In this role I utilized Six Sigma tools to drive root cause to improve build quality, performance and product quality measurements, and first-time quality.
