At Medical Center Camp Lejeune, I led multiple interdisciplinary teams helping to coordinate follow-up care for trauma patients seen through our General Surgery Department. As the care team lead, we increased our patient satisfaction ratings from 60% to 100% satisfaction over the span of 6 months. Transitioning to my new department in the Ambulatory Procedure Unit, I revised our S.O.P. manuals to reflect updated practices which benefited our surgical care team and ensured quality patient care through all steps of pre- and post-surgical patient care.In Naval Hospital Yokosuka, my hands-on experience in Labor and Delivery equipped me with an in-depth understanding of childbirth and neonatal care. As a shift lead in Labor and Delivery, I was the first responder for labor emergencies and was directly responsible for the care and well-being of neonates in intensive care through our Acute Care Nursery. My role as the Pediatrics Department Supervisor allowed me to deliver patient care for pediatric patients, while also having the opportunity to train new personnel, enhance operational efficiencies, and facilitate continuous process of improvement initiatives. As patient safety representative, I completed 4 quarterly inspections and 1 cumulative annual inspection with zero discrepancies and was awarded a Letter of Accommodation from the Director of Medical Services. While deeply rooted in healthcare, I'm currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at the University of North Texas with a 4.0 GPA, anticipating the intersection of healthcare and technology to be the future of enhanced patient care.
