Negotiated/Drafted Corporate Contracts (IP Licensing, Customer, Professional Services) for a $4bln business to business office products company. Successfully defended CE in various employment law matters in jurisdictions across the US; Represented CE before the City Council of San Diego, CA. Represented CE in a $100mm international paper supply agreement; Developed and implemented web-based metric tracking and contract template distribution systems for corporate intranet.

As corporate counsel for McDATA, (Storage Area Networks - hardware and software) I was responsible for corporate transactions in IP licensing, procurement transactions, and was the corporate HR attorney. I drafted and negotiated a broad range of corporate agreements including sales, supplier, corporate leases, and litigation settlement agreements. Building on my experience at NEC, I implemented a web-based workflow system for the legal department providing metrics and work-load visibility of all legal department activities. As lead employment law counsel, I supported all HR activities at McDATA which included review of disciplinary actions (including terminations), acquisition on-boarding, layoffs (WARN, OWBPA and Title VII analysis) and represented McDATA in front of the Colorado Civil Rights Division. I also conducted corporate policy training for all new hires.

As a Business Planning Analyst and then Business Planning Manager for the Read/Write Channel business unit, I was responsible for the tracking and performance of NEC's $20mm annual R&D budget. - Improved R&D Budget investment efficiency by developing and implementing a web-based financial tracking system to provide real-time spending analysis.-Streamlined various group spending by creating a standard method for R&D fund spending and training key purchasing personnel on the new method. - Substantially reduced spending through implementing basic sourcing principles, reducing the number of active suppliers and by consolidating purchase agreements.- Provided bilingual culture and language training to Japanese expats.
