As the Director of Value-Based Care Contracting at Summit Health, I led the organization's value-based care contracting strategy. This included working with internal teams (i.e., Clinical Operations, Legal, Finance, Risk Analytics) to build consensus on key contracting decisions, leading negotiations with external parties, and creating recommendations for executive leadership to guide final decisions on negotiated agreements. My portfolio included large multi-year agreements in the Medicare, MA, and Commercial category with National and Regional payor partners, as well as VBC initiatives such as bundles, capitation agreements, and clinical episodes.

At The Cleveland Clinic, I led the Medical Economics team as we worked to measure and improve value-based care performance across our value-based care portfolio. We partnered with Caregivers throughout the organization, providing meaningful analyses, best practices, and optimization opportunities that reduced cost, increased quality, and improved value. I worked closely with executive clinical and administrative leadership to drive meaningful, measurable improvement in quality, utilization and cost performance across a diverse portfolio of risk-based contracts. I also led the development of a value-based performance reporting standard to help the organization better manage its risk-based agreements. This framework allowed for quick performance comparisons across different agreement types, highlighting areas of opportunity and making it easier to understand where resources were needed.

As a member of the Corporate FP&A team, I was responsible for the production of financial material for the Executive Committee and Board of Directors. My team also owned and maintained the global financial forecasting process, with responsibility for calculation and validation of externally reported GAAP and Ongoing business results. We coordinated efforts with investor relations, external reporting, policy and procedures, and corporate accounting to streamline the earnings release process, resulting in error elimination and work-effort reduction.In addition to my day-to-day responsibilities, I led the deployment of a revised global forecasting tool, helping to significantly improve process reliability and reduce work effort. Outside of my core finance responsibilities, I chaired, volunteered, and undertook numerous developmental initiatives, including leadership of the summer intern case competition program for >100 interns.

MBA Intern in the Commercial Insurance group, supporting provider relations and quality ratings systems. Conducted a comprehensive review of quality monitoring solutions, streamlining workflows and reducing licensing and external contractor spending while preserving data availability.

Supported surgical and inpatient services, with responsibility for project management and data analysis. Developed ambulatory surgical and hospital inpatient analytical support, deploying standardized tools across numerous departments and locations. Interfaced regularly with senior executive leadership to build consensus and align objectives. My work included financial analyses, budgeting support, operational assessments and process improvement project leadership. Key areas were payment model transformation (including the launch and management of an MSSP ACO), population health initiatives, M&A planning, and business development. Additional work included longitudinal patient outcomes analysis, provider capacity / demand planning, and deployment of new analytical tools, working with vendors such as Sg2, Optum and Healthgrades.
