As an advocate for sustainability through academic research, I specialize in Process Intensification within the realm of Chemical Reaction Engineering. My focus is on innovating the design of heterogeneous reactors for continuous processes, incorporating modern reaction windows, such as photocatalysis and electrochemistry. My expertise in this field includes: (i) reactor modeling & design, supported by skills in CAD, CFD hydrodynamic simulations, and mathematical modeling; (ii) bench-scale prototyping & testing, leveraging competencies in CAM, 3D printing, and mechanical processing; (iii) catalyst design, entailing the preparation of nanoscale functionalized materials and their assessment using microscopic, crystallographic, and spectroscopic methods; (iv) development of functional catalyst supports, including the shaping of structured pieces through casting techniques and additive manufacturing; and (v) multiscale modeling of chemical processes, ranging from quantum-scale kinetics and thermodynamics to environmental impact modeling of pollutants in natural waters.In my role as a university lecturer, I am deeply committed to modernizing educational approaches in Chemical Engineering. I actively incorporate active learning methodologies and problem-based learning (PBL) activities, particularly those revolving around topics related to societal challenge and outreach opportunities, to enhance student engagement and understanding. I am passionate about integrating modern programming technologies to solve Chemical Engineering problems, constantly seeking innovative ways to bring theoretical concepts to life in the classroom. This blend of advanced research and progressive teaching methods reflects my dedication to shaping future engineers who are well-equipped to tackle the challenges of our evolving world.
