Norwalk Waterfront Industrial Land Use Plan: Supported senior staff in completing and submitting the land use plan to the City of Norwalk for adoption. The plan heavily incorporated map graphics and visual aids for communicating plan priorities, vision, and issues.JEDI Mentorship Co-Chair: Gabriel was a Co-Chair for Utile’s Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion initiative. Roles included developing the company's ongoing mentorship program for staff, participating in meetings regarding company office culture, and developing extracurricular corporate programming.

Worked alongside Dorchester Bay EDC Real Estate Staff on project managing the active real estate development of the Dorchester Bay Economic Development Corporation. From a mixed-use new construction transit-oriented development site: Indigo Block, to responding to RFPs, to working on the ongoing rehabilitation of the Pierce building Gabriel was folded into several dynamic projects at the neighborhood economic development corporation in Dorchester, MA. Indigo Block: Prepared project requisitions for the 27,000sf light-industrial commercial building as part of the 2.7-acre transit-oriented development site. Reviewed residential and commercial requisitions and prepared payments to project contractors & consultants.Columbia Crossing: Developed and coordinated Dorchester Bay's RFP response for the Upham's Corner Arts & Innovation RFP for a development proposal in Dorchester, MA alongside development partners: Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH) and Stull & Lee Architects. After receiving designation from Dudley Neighbors Incorporated, Gabriel worked preliminarily on the project's funding and permitting applications.Pierce: Gabriel also participated in the ongoing rehabilitation of the Pierce Building where he prepared the project's financial requisition and coordinated logistics for the building's restoration alongside the project team.Asset Management: Working alongside Associate Director of Asset Management Tim Caplice, Gabriel provided assistance in Dorchester Bay EDC's asset management of over 160,000sf of commercial space and over 1,000 units of housing. Gabriel worked with Tim on monitoring property cash flows, monthly property management coordination calls and digitizing the company's asset management system onto an online platform.

The African American Design Nexus is a digital platform being developed by the Harvard University Graduate School of Design to advance goals of building and showcasing diversity within the design industry. The role of the position is to liaise between Harvard University GSD Collections & Outreach Librarian Ardys Kozbial, Assistant Dean of Information Services Ann Whiteside, Assistant Director of Digital Content Strategy Ronee Saroff, and Leone Design the web developer on the creation of the African American Design Nexus Website. As well as gathering documentation that the developer may need, coordinating our communication, attending meetings as the website for the Design Nexus is developed. As well as building out more content for the website. This includes profiles of designers, as well as starting the process of producing podcasts with designers (oral histories in podcast form).

Through the Community Service Fellowship at the Harvard Graduate School of Design I worked with the Africatown Community Development Corporation on a two day engagement event titled the "Imagine Africatown Design Weekend." Imagine Africatown Design Weekend was a summer project started by the Africatown Preservation & Development Association with the goal of bringing in the larger Seattle Community together to have a conversation about the future of the Central District neighborhood in Seattle Washington. The event was a two day experience centered around three main events: a design town hall featuring designer Walter Hood, an eight hour design charret, and a community dinner. We had over 300 people who participated in the design weekend. As a Design Fellow I was tasked with logistics coordination, planning, and execution of the design weekend alongside the help and assistance of the Africatown Community Land-trust and Africatown Preservation and Development Association.

Transitions is a comprehensive, four-year program for first-generation, low income, and/or undocumented students. Students are initially invited to the program, but anyone is welcome to join once they are on campus. The program was built on the thoughtful work of students, faculty, and administrators. The program focuses on building community and creating a sense of belonging amongst these populations at the school.As a Post-Bacc I worked with program directors and summer interns on planning for the upcoming academic year but also lead a special project called the Transitions Lifebook. The Lifebook emerged from similar concepts of a orientation guide for students but through creative means and aims to introduce students the the college in nontraditional ways.
