Rams Mabote has impeccable and solid experience in public relations, strategic communication, public affairs and reputation management. Rams began his career as a print journalist for the Cape Times newspaper in 1991 and subsequently worked for among other The Star and The Sunday Times in print, Radio 702, Kaya FM, Radio 2000, Metro FM and SABC 3 in radio and TV. He has also freelanced for several local and international media.In 1997 Rams co-founded Matigari Communication Consultancy and among his clients were SA Breweries, Coca-Cola Southern Africa, Transnet Foundation, Eskom and Land Bank, where Rams conceptualised, led and implemented communication, PR, media and public affairs campaigns. In 2006 he founded Kingmaker Consulting and worked with clients like Hollard, ABSA, MTN, PPC, and several government departments. Rams has also provided media training and coaching to clients including NBA Africa, Nestle and NERSA. Between 2007 and 2008 he had a stint as Africa Head of Communication at ABSA Bank, where he was team leader for 12 PR managers across the country and in three African countries. Between 2010 and 2012 he was contracted as communications and international relations special advisor for Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.Lately Rams's work has focused on reputation and crisis management and some of his clients include celebrities, CEOs, government ministers, corporates and BEE companies.
