I joined Softura's Offshore Development Center in Chennai and worked closely with the CEO and co-founders based in the USA. I was responsible for:>> Building and maintaining a highly motivated development team>> Supervise budgeting, accounting and general administration>> Quality of software, Delivery and support>> Frequent in-person and remote interaction with overseas customersThe initial phase involved building and nurturing an enthusiastic development team, devise and implement processes for managing onsite-offshore teams and projects, impart training in tech and non-tech areas. Was able to successfully handle challenges including IT industry lows, poaching of resources etc.;was able to keep employees motivated by a combination of creative pay structuring and training.Successes included keeping employee turnover to less than 20%, implementing creative compensation and career growth policies and managing poaching challenges implicit in the industry.Another key success area were initiatives to make the company adopt Agile/Scrum for projects. I learnt, understood and imparted Scrum awareness training and also coached teams as they started using Scrum in projects.

As a Project Manager, I was responsible for project planning, execution and implementation. Worked with both functional and technical resources to define solutions that meet business requirements for customers.Designed, developed and implemented business applications for both domestic and overseas customers. Made several visits to the USA to meet and understand client requirements and discuss project plans.Development was done using Microsoft Technologies including Visual Basic, VC++, MS Access, MS SQL Server.

As a programmer, I was responsible for developing applications based on specifications documented by senior analysts.Was involved in implementing business applications and implementation support.Visited the US as part of a team involved in building applications used for testing product interfaces.
