My name is Ramy Atia; I am an engineering technology major at Western Illinois University due to my love of always being hands-on with all my work. As a kid, I preferred doing things with my hands like building, fixing, or even modifying something, whether it was technological or manual labor. I would work on computer system projects with my dad, who is an IT at a bank, when I was only in sixth grade. All my engineering experience comes from the courses that I have taken at my institution. I have taken continuous improvement: lean practices, machine tool production, Continuous Improvement: Quality, Computer Numerical Controlled Machining, Power systems, and etc. I have studied non-value-added practices and techniques/tools used to reduce or eliminate them, the theory and operation of machine tools and precision measuring instruments, continuous process improvement using PDCA/DMAIC models, fundamental quality tools, FMEA, etc., and introductory and advanced applications with CNC machines. I am currently a Division 1 soccer player for Western Illinois University. I found an interest in soccer at a young age due to my entire family's love of athletics. Everything about me and my life is because of soccer. I took every lesson and every experience with me into the real world of school and work.I have programmed myself to do everything I do to the best of my abilities, whether that's in life, work, school, or sports. My least favorite subjects are reading and writing, but that never ever stopped me from getting an A in my classes. For me, it doesn't matter if I don't like what I'm doing or I love what I'm doing, Whatever it is, my best will be put into it at all times. I am motivated, dedicated, and properly skilled in many aspects of all types of work to allow me to do any job to the highest of my abilities.
