About Ramya Christopher

I love working in a fast-paced, constantly changing, and challenging environment, which drove me into IT Service Management. As an Incident Manager, I work with multiple cross-functional teams on high-priority business/revenue impacting IT outages in my current role. One of the key roles is to reduce MTTR (Mean Time To Restore). So, every task is time-bound and demands multi-tasking, and I'm good at it. Getting status updates during a high-priority outage is not easy, but with my excellent People Management skills, I get the work done with no pressure. I do a bit of Change Management and Problem Management tasks. I love teaching, and I've been doing a lot of training throughout my career. I train new joiners on the internal processes, Organization, Applications, ITSM tools, Systems, Escalation metrics, and everything the candidate needs to start handling incidents, including on-the-job training. I have an overall 18+ years of work experience. I wanted to be a doctor and treat people who can't afford expensive hospital treatments for less money, but I ended up at a Contact Center job after high school. I loved the job, and I worked on building my career from there. I'm a quick learner and picked up a few skills on my way to the ITSM role. Some of them are: 1. Customer Service / Customer interaction2. Quality Analyst: Quality Transaction Monitoring (Customer Service & Service Desk)3. IT Quality Audit team: Created various ITIL documents such as IT Service Continuity Plan, SLA, OLA, and Service Management Plan for internal and external quality audits4. Service Desk: Worked as a team leader managing a team of ~15 resources and headed various Continuous Service Improvement projects. 5. Client relationship management6. Knowledge Transfer/Training: Single-handedly completed an onsite transition for a major retail company in Belgium, trained over 60 resources, and supported the project go-live to the steady state phase.7. And now, IT Service Management. I've learned that discipline or process is significant in a toddler's life and in any IT organization. That's what ITSM or ITIL does; I know a bit about it.
