• Conceptualized and implemented the conversion of costly fuel oil to cheaper alternative in Baking Furnaces and cast house furnaces which fetch the recurring benefits of around Rs. 510 Lac / annum.• Reduced Specific Fuel Consumption from 35 Lt/MT to 28 Lt/MT in Properzi Furnaces. For this purpose following activities were carried out• Conceptualized and implemented the modified waste heat recovery system in Caster, Properzi and Pig ingot casting furnaces resulting a recurring saving of Rs 90 Lac/annum. • Development of new energy efficient fan for Baking furnace # 3. Saving achieved Rs. 7.79 Lac/annum.• Recommended for pulley change of FLS bag house Fan after process study. Saving achieved Rs.3.05 Lac/annum. • Saved Rs 22 Lac in the proposed capital expenditure of new chilling system for cooling Hot Mill Motor by proposing the system to improve the existing Heat Exchanger Efficiency• Reviewed the capex of pipe lying project of river side to water treatment plant and reduced the project cost to 275 Lac from 600 Lac.• Compressed air consumption is reduced from 7000 cfm to 5000 cfm in Alumina Precipitation area by studying and implementing new operational method resulted a saving of Rs.51.78 Lac/annum.• Replacement of MS Spacers with Aluminum Extruded Cubical bars, developed in-house, yield savings of Rs. 5 Lac/ annum • Optimum utilization of our available resources like stop running of one pump thru connecting the headers. Saving achieved RS. 3.16 Lac/annum • Saved Rs. 40 Lac/annum by suggesting to separate the compressed header of Point feeder from Tapping line.• Waste heat recovery from Calciner for heating the DM water of Boiler to reduce the auxiliary steam consumption and eliminate the cooling tower from the system. Estimated saving Approx Rs.125 Lac/annum –Project is under formulation) • Installation of VFC system in compressed air line of Boiler House to reduce the power consumption.
