My responsibilities include delivering Safety Instrumented System Projects as per industry standards ISA 84/IEC 61511. Making sure that each and every phase of the project lifecycle is realized in compliance with these standards and is auditable by independent standard governance bodies.I’m responsible for Defining Project Scope, Marking-up existing and creating new P&IDs as in project scope, Project Functional Safety Planning, conducting PHA(HAZOP/LOPA), implementing HAZOP/LOPA recommendations, IPL rationalization, Identifying SIFs, selecting SIL for SIFs, SIL verification using ExSILentia, creating Safety Requirement Specification, Instrument specification, Instrument Index, Cause & Effect Matrices, Control Narrative, devising scope of the work plan for EPC and being a focal technical point of contact for EPC and vendors.Reviewing vendor’s safety validation planning, identify gaps, and making sure it complies with safety requirement specification.Reviewing Function Design Specification, General Arrangement Drawings, Test Execution Plan, Factory Acceptance Test Procedures, Site Acceptance Test Procedures, and Operation & Maintenance Procedure.Conducting FAT, SAT, and Pre-startup Safety Reviews.Performing Functional Safety Assessment during basic design, detail design, and implementation phases of the project.
