Ran was brought in by the Partnership of this specialized consulting firm to help develop and lead a new program for rapid growth and organizational development. He is responsible for driving new strategic initiatives and oversees the marketing, business development, recruiting and practice management activities of the firm. Ankura Consulting is an economic and management consulting firm that provides statistical, economic and financial analysis, strategic advice and expert testimony to clients facing potentially catastrophic challenges. Ran has been involved in some of the largest and most high profile litigation cases in recent years involving billions of dollars such as the NFL Concussion Settlement, AT&T Mobile Internet Settlement, Foreign Currency Exchange Manipulation, major auto safety settlements and others.

In 2004 during a road trip across Europe to find a strong mobile Internet software development company, Ran discovered a small German company in a town more than an hour outside of Frankfurt. Ran liked the founders and the business model they had created so much that he immediately formed a relationship with the company. This ultimately led to a direct investment and the decision to bring the company to the U.S. market. In 2005, Ran established the company's U.S. office and personally led the dramatic expansion of Netbiscuits in the media and entertainment, publishing, ecommerce, travel and hospitality, retail and advertising sectors. Under his direction the company's U.S. revenue grew to represent over 50% of worldwide revenue with offices in New York, San Francisco and Reston. Netbiscuits provided a cloud-based mobile development and delivery platform that supported the mobile programs of leading companies such as eBay, Time Inc., MTV, CBS, Universal, Enterprise, Expedia and many more.

In 1996 Ran founded Ashburn International, originally as a technology investment and advisory firm. The company was distinguished as the first investment advisor on the sale of Internet Service Provider companies in Europe. Among the portfolio companies was Czech On Line, which later resulted in the establishment of Tiscali, one of Europe's largest ISPs. Ran then went on to found CommStar, a satellite data communications company which he sold to GE Spacenet in 1997. Following that, he established a payment transaction processing company in the Baltics under the name Ashburn International which became a leading provider of processing services for bank cards, retail loyalty card programs and prepaid mobile phone transactions. Ran built a state-of-the-art data center in Vilnius, Lithuania and grew the company to more than 50 employees serving all major banks and retailers. Ran sold the AI processing center to private investors in 2005.

Ran served as a Partner in the Management Consulting and Finance group of Deloitte & Touche in Central Europe. He directed a wide range of projects in the areas of large enterprise privatization, investment transaction advisory services, enterprise restructuring and strategic analysis. Ran was based in Prague, Czech Republic and managed a practice group covering Deloitte & Touche offices in Poland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

Ran worked in the specialized national economic and financial consulting practice of KPMG based in Washington DC as a Manager and then Senior Manager. He worked on a diverse range of consulting projects related to market analysis, financial feasibility analysis, financial and economic forecasting and investment advisory services. His work included such industries as satellite data communications, technology, manufacturing and agricultural processing among others. He also worked on international privatization projects in Venezuela, Czechoslovakia and Puerto Rico.

Ran began his career as a management and strategy consultant with Booz, Allen & Hamilton. He worked on a wide range of projects for Fortune 500 companies in the areas of financial feasibility analysis, market analysis and organizational analysis. His experience spanned a wide range of industries from pulp and paper making, to grain, aluminium and steel among many others.
