Our in-house clinical genetic lab utilizes molecular biology and bioinformatics approaches for reproductive genetics tests including Pre-Implantation Genetic Testing (PGT-A/M/SR).In addition to our routine tests of embryos from patients undergoing IVF treatment, we have a large research setting in the clinic. With access to thousands of patients who consented to use the DNA of their embryos for research our reproductive genetics lab is focused on developing new genetic markers to improve the process of embryo selection and enhance treatment and outcomes for IVF patients.The work includes:•Developing and designing new tests aimed at identifying novel genetic markers and new approaches, to improve the process of embryo selection for IVF-treated patients.•Launching and implementing new Next-Generation sequencing technologies and automation in the clinical lab.•Developing and integrating a new LIMS and database to enhance workflow, track lab performance, improve communication, and increase the efficiency of the department.•Performing, interpreting, and reporting a variety of genetic testing performed using Next-Generation Sequencing, Sanger Sequencing, and arrays.•Analyzing data from clinical and research activities for scientific purposes and procedure improvement.•Leading a team of 3 technologists to increase year over year throughput by 60%.•Providing ongoing educational seminars for clinic staff, patients, and academic trainees.•Partnering with new collaborators, participating in scientific discussions, and presenting at national and international professional meetings.
