A Professor of Educational Technology with extensive experience as an educational leader, researcher, and instructional designer. Besides my expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methods and analyses, I have extensive experience in systematic reviews and meta-analytic procedures and techniques. With my established publication record in top tier peer reviewed journals and a growing citation record, I am known as an international expert in conducting rigorous and reliable research reviews to inform evidence-based decisions and policy development. On the educational leadership side, I have a rich experience at different tertiary and K-12 institutions with the latest position being the Dean of the College of Education at Zayed University. My expertise include strategic planning, curriculum development, project management, conflict resolution, as well as budgeting and fund-raising. As an educational leader, I believe in shared governance and that leadership entails creating a positive work environment and culture; discovering team members’ strengths and building on them; investing in capacity building and empowering everyone to reach their potential; and building strong mutual relations with various stakeholders. Prior to starting my academic leadership journey, I invested more than 20 years in graduate and undergraduate university instruction and supervision; adult in-service training, and K-12 teaching and coordination in Canada and the Middle East. The richness in my teaching experience has enabled me to develop my teaching philosophy on both theoretical and practical levels. Having had the chance to teach at different grade levels, I appreciate the teacher’s role as an instructional designer who creates appropriate learning environments while facilitating knowledge acquisition in a learner centered setting. My academic qualifications and professional experience, allowed me to hone my instructional design skills for different delivery forms, including face-to-face, distance, online, and blended.
