About Rand Jerris Ph.D.

Accomplished museum leader, cultural and sports historian, and award-winning author skilled in strategic and operational planning, capital project management, exhibition design and storytelling, museum and library operations, fundraising and revenue generation, and crisis communications and reputation management. My passion is empowering museums, libraries, and organizations with rich histories to deliver great impact through world-class facilities and collections that tell inspirational stories. For more than 30 years, I oversaw the growth and expansion of the nation's oldest sports museum, transforming a storied institution into a world-class operation whose programs now reach more than 5 million people annually. This included the design and construction of a modern museum and library facility to properly care for a collection of more than 100,000 artifacts, a library with more than 100,000 titles, a photographic archive with more than 5 million images, and more than 50,000 hours of historic film and video assets. As a member of the senior executive team for the United States Golf Association, I was a catalyst for strategic planning, innovation, brand-building, and social and environmental justice. Through more than three decades of service to the organization, I led the development of the USGA's strategic planning process; the launch of the USGA Foundation and reimagination of a membership program that today generates more than $17M in revenue; the on-time and under-budget delivery of three major construction projects, including a world-class, award-winning museum and library facility; the creation of a new team focused on innovation; brand and crisis communications; and the implementation of an organizational commitment to environmental responsibility.
