The geographic nature of ICAN’s products sparked an interest in analytical GIS, and he then completed a MSc in Geography, concentrating on multiple-criteria decision analysis for land management. This led to positions with Nature Conservancy of Canada as a conservation analyst and GIS modeler, with Memorial University as a cartography lecturer, with the Too Big To Ignore project as a web-based crowd sourcing and mapping project manager, and ultimately to his consulting practice.
