Group O was contracted to Caterpillar Tractor for their materials handling needs at their Aurora and Joliet hydraulics facilities. We managed their parts inventory, shipping and receiving, and parts delivery to the manufacturing lines.When I started with Group O Joliet operations, we had 80 people. That number grew to over 200 people working three shifts.As the Metrics Manager, I oversaw the daily timecards and time approval using a computer program called Kronos. This also involved coordinating with other managers and supervisor to bill time properly. I also managed the organization chart and all coding for each position in Kronos. I prepared the weekly and monthly reports for billing our client, Caterpilllar tractor.
