1. Evaluation of new CPE equipment in timely, cost effective approach to proactively support revenue growth or network optimization.2. Provide technical support/third level technical assistance as subject matter expert to Operations (NOC), Field Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and sites on voice and Data platforms, including:a. VoIP architectures b. T1A/EIA and BICSI standardsc. Routing protocols as customers required. Local security and survivability on CPEe. Maintenancef. Featuresg. Act as a mentor to less experienced colleaguesh. Get vendors involved to insure delivery of timely solutions for customer problems 3. Manages hardware life-cycle for: a. Cisco and Adtran router and switchesb. Polycom, Cisco, and Linksys endpointsc. Cisco and Adtran wireless endpoints4. Configure, test, and troubleshoot Customer Premise Equipment implementations, including integration with data and IP technologies such as: a. IP and Ethernet routing and switchingb. UNIX/Linux based hardware DHCP and DNS servers5. Analyze and integration of multiple vendor products through lab testing and initial field trials to evaluate technology and its deployment feasibility.6. Create and document regression test plans, building, troubleshooting, and executing test plans to validate voice and data products and platforms in company lab 7. Communicate with Centralized Engineering to ensure complete, accurate understanding of CPE architectures and to identify potential issues.8. Maintain current in-depth knowledge:a. To support software upgrades for equipment vendors (Adtran, Cisco, Linksys and Polycom) b. Engage vendors and other team members as well as those in other technology groups in the timely delivery of solutions while meeting expected milestones.c. Data routed protocols and standards (MPLS, TCP, UDP, STP, IPSec, GRE, DMVPN VPNs , and 802.1 VLANs, ) and routing protocols and standards (RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, IS-IS)
