Bohemian Cowgirl is a women's western, retail and wholesale company. When I was hired the company already had a Shopify set up.My job was to change the site over to a new Shopify Theme that was purchased but wasn't in use. It didn't take much to transfer to the new theme. After a few small tweaks it was transferred and I could begin implementing the new sections that came with the theme ( Hero/Slideshow Sections, E-mail Subscription, etc. ). Shopify has a lot of great tools for tweaking the usability of the website out of the box. So I made sure to make good use of that when setting up links in the navbar. One of the biggest challenges was the store had both Wholesale and Retail products on the same sales channel. If you didn't already know, Shopify requires you to have a Shopify plus plan which runs you $2000 a month. It didn't make sense to upgrade from Shopify Basic which was only about $30 a month and it was a relatively small company with only about 8 employees. All of the wholesale products were blocked behind a password given by our sales rep. so keeping them away from our retail shoppers wasn't a problem. The problem was that each product was actually 2 products, one retail and one wholesale. On top of that each product variation such as color or style ( short sleeve, hoodie, crop ) was it's own product. Thankfully Shopify includes the exporting capability but it was still plenty of busy work condensing every product with it's colors and styles. This reduced the total amount of products from over 2000 to around 200 since the wholesale and retail products had to be separate.Along with this each product badly needed new product pictures so I had to orchestrate that with another coworker. Then pricing was taken care of as well as categorizing with tags and adding more products and the products were properly organized and taken care of. This whole process greatly improved the usability of the website and I'm proud of what I accomplished.
