Designed, tested, and successfully deployed complete CNG-Electric parallel hybrid powertrain. Attraction has been operating since Spring 2016.2. Wrote Hybrid Control Unit (HCU) software using Matlab/Simulink on a Woodward Motohawk controller. Wrote electric motor speed control logic, and implemented a torque control based regeneration strategy. Regeneration strategy ensured CNG fuel capacity was sufficient to last for 18 operating hours per day.3. Performed calibration/tuning of vehicle in field using Mototune and Vector CANalyzer4. Tested and selected various Lithium-Ion battery packs to use on vehicle. Used Motohawk controller to test battery packs on ABC-150 battery cycler through it's CAN interface. Wrote control interfaces to BMS to ensure safe and proper vehicle operation.5. Designed Operator Dashboard and integrated user interface (gauges, buttons, etc) into control system6. Design and test of ride PLC systems for Fire Suppression and Entry Hatches7. Production support in China – from wiring/harness installation through testing8. Designed Powertrain test stand and performed Powertrain qualification testing- Designed and successfully tested dual speed transmission control system for helicopter tail rotor- Proposal/report writing and business development for defense, commercial, and themed opportunities.
