Closed and managed high profile accounts like GroupOn, PaddyPower, Kongregate, New Relic, ZenDesk, Shopify, and GitHub.● Created, implemented, and managed the Engine Yard Technical Incubator Program.● Served as part of the technical due diligence team for company acquisitions..Identified and evaluated another cloud hosting provider, Orchestra.io, which was Engine Yard’s first strategic acquisition● Instituted and performed client code audits to identify key technical issues before migration to the Engine Yard hosting platform.

Promoted to Lead Enterprise Architect for the Software Development Section one of only three at the company at the time, out of 200+ developers.Enterprise Architect (Feb. 2005 - May 2005)● Designed and implemented low impact method of retrofitting an existing deployed product with localization capability. ● Created custom code generation templates that wrapped satellite assemblies with a strongly typed provider that allowed idiomatic access to localized resources from files, assemblies, and databases.● Designed and taught a course in OO methodology with an emphasis on commonly occurring design patterns and their proper implementation and use in the .NET framework.● Served as technical lead of a three-person team that analyzed current problems within the Research and Analytics division; Our analysis resulted in a plan of action that was later presented to Sr. Management including the CIO, CTO and COO, and President of Maritz Research.● Designed curriculum for and taught courses on software design and architecture.Lead Enterprise Architect (May 2005 - Jan. 2006)● Lead Architect on process and software reengineering effort for online analytic business intelligence and reporting systems leveraging Visual Studio 2005, SQL Server 2005, C# 2.0, XML, scripting languages and ASP.NET 2.0.● Instituted agile development methodology (SCRUM) as a means to rapidly develop a reusable data warehousing and web reporting framework.● Recruited, led, and coached a team of 4 developers to provide innovative technical solutions highly focused on business ROI.● Designed and implemented visual studio 2005 development environment and pilot program for Maritz Inc. The project team was the first team to have hands on experience with, and access to the Visual Studio 2005 development stack.

Lead Architect and implementer of commercial product for the bio-pharma industry. The product is a data analysis portal allowing non-technical business users to query highly technical statistical information.● Developed interactive query and reporting infrastructure using ASP.NET 2.0, C# 2.0, and Visual Studio Whidbey. Developed streamlined UI allowing the querying of complex datasets in a web browser environment.● Implemented custom parameterized reports using Microsoft Reporting Services for SQL Server 2000, .NET and T-SQL.● Designed and implemented automated "bootstrapping" data warehouse using the Codesmith code generation tool and the NANT build management system.● Built OLAP cubes and MDX queries to build custom datasets for analysis in MS Excel using Pivot table services.● Used C#, Winforms, JavaScript, PERL and SQL Server DTS to design and implement a complete ETL tool chain that merged text, flat file, database, and spreadsheet data into the data warehouse.

One of three engineers responsible for the DVD backup solution DVDXCopy. Managed, built, and tested release process for DVDXCopy worldwide on-line and shrink wrap retail distribution. Designed and implemented installers for DVDXCopy and DVD Copy Plus retail software packages while making extensive use of custom DLLs written in C++, Wise installer, and Nullsoft installation SDK.● Prototyped MPEG-2 decoder in C# using managed and unmanaged code.● Developed custom software patching solution using Widows Template Library (WTL).● Re-factored external libraries into one composite static library that reduced application footprint from 23 Megabytes to 3 Megabytes resulting in an increased number of software downloads, and an overall decrease in bandwidth costs.

Designed and implemented software supporting portfolio management and investment banking functions. Recognized as one of the first developers using Open Source software in production trading systems resulting in faster time to market at lower overall cost in terms of developer time and infrastructure costs.● Developed suite of Extract-Transform and Load (ETL) tools using PERL , PERL::DBI, and shell scriptsMaintained and enhanced intranet site used to support the portfolio management division. ● Created and maintained PERL DBI scripts and database stored procedures critical to the daily processing of trading information. ● Served as technical lead on the re-factoring effort for in house portfolio management tool to provide a blueprint and operational plan to modernize the application by moving it to an N-Tier distributed architecture using MS Visual Basic, ADO, COM and MTS. Previously, tools used by the portfolio managers were accessed through a dumb terminal emulator. Replacing the terminal program with a modern GUI application reduced training costs, reduced operator error and allowed better overall management of managed accounts.

Designed and implemented software for the computer telephone industry. Led development on various software projects with a focus on database design and implementation, computer telephony integration (CTI), and interactive voice response (IVR). ● Served as lead designer and programmer on next generation intranet distributed call center environment. ● Designed IVR scripting language based on XML that allowed an IVR to be visually programmed from any DHTML 4.0 compliant browser. This allowed our CTI suite to compete with offerings from companies like Lucent and Avaya as non technical users could implement IVR scripting● Designed and implemented an intelligent rules based E-mail distribution system that would route emails to appropriate inboxes based on keywords and/or contextual information in the email. The automated E-Mail agent was later awarded "Best of Show" at CT expo 2000.● Implemented IVR systems and firmware for VoIP switches from Lucent and Avaya.

Served as programmer for mission-critical network management database and held Secret Security Clearance. Designed modules for multi-user Database using VB 6.0. Wrote the code in-house saved over 240 man-hours and tens of thousands of dollars.● Managed 380+ node United States wide ADNX T1 channel bank and multiplexer network.● Managed GPS timing sources for the continental US Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) ● Planned and implemented a successful Y2K upgrade of over 60 network critical timing sources. By managing hardware and firmware upgrades remotely DISA was saved the cost of dispatching field engineers to 60 locations around the continental U.S.● Implemented a virtual warehousing: by writing SQL queries to more efficiently cross ship hardware installed in the field. This resulted in a significant cost savings by limiting the need to purchase new equipment, and reducing the overall time for moving needed equipment to a target location.
