Working for John Deere at one of their smaller facilities has provide me many experiences in my early career. It has provided opportunities to work directly with the factory floor to understand their concerns on building the product. Then using their feedback to design and develop solutions that improves not only the product but ability for it to be produced. It has also allowed me time to work directly with the testing of the new products that I was developing. Being able to physically touch and assemble the product highlights areas that can be improved that is sometimes not clear when looking at the 3D CAD models on the screen. I additionally was responsible for running ANSYS and AMESim software to complete Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) models of the new transmission designs to verify fluid flow paths not only through complex manifolds but as spin off of gears in the transmission. Even though we were a small facility in south east Kansas, I often would work with other divisions and factories around the globe (North America, China, Mexico, Germany, and India) to ensure our products were meeting their needs or to collaborate on new products. Prior to John Deere, while at the University of Arkansas, I completed an internship at Lockheed Martin working as a manufacturing Engineer. I also worked as a lab assistant and tutor while completing my studies.
