I was sitting in my Marketing class in 1993, and the professor stopped his class to let a student from the Logistics Management Council speak to us in order to recruit candidates. This student relayed stories of his internship with Chrysler the previous summer, where he flew once on a private jet to deliver an urgent package to a plant and his participating in supply chain analytics for domestic inbound parts. Me, being the young man who envisioned fast cars, international business travel and Italian suits marveled at this potential future in: Logistics.After joining LMC, under the personal direction of Dr. Robert L. Cook, I quickly learned logistics was way more than one of the “P’s” of the 4 P’s of Marketing. Our team learned warehousing, trucking, supply chain practices and project management. I was also educated in resume building, interviewing and thank you letters, and best yet, what it was like to be mentored by incredible people who love what they do and want others to succeed.Now, several years later, and minus the fast cars, suits and international travel, my priorities changed and I love what I do in logistics, and that is design creative, dynamic, and profitable solutions for our customers and develop thoughtful, data-driven logistics professionals. I enjoy solving problems, looking for solutions in the data, talking with customers to understand and improve their supply chain goals.I excel in building cohesive teams by sharing a vision, setting standards, and mentoring my group to develop professionals who engineer solutions that work, make confident decisions and achieve results that lead to growth and profitability.My free time is spent outdoors, playing with our dog or watching anything that is a sport.
