Attorney at bankruptcy law firm, handling Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies.

Wrote articles on taking the LSAT and getting into law school, right around 3 articles published each week.

I dealt primarily with family law and personal injury cases. I have an active case load of around 40 cases, ranging from divorce and custody, to protection orders and civil litigation. I deal with all aspects of these cases, from initial filings to discovery, mediation to hearings. I deal, on a daily basis, with clients in high-emotion settings, and help them work through some very difficult times in their lives. With protection orders, I have represented clients who needed protection orders, as well as with clients who were forced to defend against them. I have been successful on both sides. I have also filled in for our law firm's criminal defense attorney and have taken part in bond hearings, sentencing hearings, and in negotiating plea bargains.

Working part time on a contract basis with a family law firm, performing basic duties such as drafting motions, briefs and memos, as well as file maintenance with client files.

Performed legal research for relevant family law issues such as child and family support, parenting time, remedial and punitive contempt, and modification of court orders; helped attorneys prepare for court and mediation; prepared outlines for CLE presentations.

Worked with the City Attorney as a prosecutor. Participated in hundreds of pre-trial conferences and took 7 cases to trial in the two months I worked here.
