It is true that work becomes much easier when it is your passion. I truly enjoy creating software and have spent countless hours learning and enhancing my effectiveness by acquiring new skills and knowledge. I have gained a broad set of software skills not only from my thirteen years of professional software development experience but also projects related to my three college degrees, freelance work, educational and potentially business purposes.At Citadel, I began as a contractor and was hired on direct within a year. I worked with the back office technology group developing and supporting applications, services, and library APIs primarily for corporate actions and reference data. Most of this development was in C++14 and C#, with some Python on both Linux and Windows. I was a key contributor to several major efforts. Those efforts include an upgrade to compiler versions, operating systems, and third party libraries, the implementation of a major IRS tax regulations, and several database migrations from Sybase to SQL Server. I also implemented many other changes and provided on-call support when required. This role was fast-paced, challenging, from which I learned a great deal.My prior position was at a small company at which I played a key role in implementing the software development process and associated tools, represented software while trying to acquire new business, and developed software for upcoming products. Some challenges in this role were implementing new software development processes and creating software for an entirely new product. Some technical skills used in this role were C, C++, C#, Perl, TFS, Eclipse, Matlab, Simulink and others. Previously, I started as an entry-level Software Engineer and grew into a Lead Software Engineer within four years. Specialties: C, C++, and C# software development.
