One and one half years as Senior Design Engineer at Electronic Marketing Systems, Toronto. This position had a top level responsibility for product and systems definition, design, and development for hardware and software. Major projects included the design and implementation of one of the first frequent shopper's system for Sears Canada. This system involved design of a point of sale terminal using a communications "wiretap" of Sears sales transaction data, and communications networking from the Sears store in Belleville, Ontario to Microvax computers in Toronto. Another project involved the development of an 8-bit microcomputer board, linear power supply, and displays to implement custom point of purchase games for marketing promotions.
