I began my financial services career in 1990 when I joined The Vermont Agency and National Life Insurance Company as an agent and also as a registered representative of Equity Services, Inc. I progressed through the Management/Leadership Development program at National Life utilizing my trademarked Shared Intellectual Property Model and was appointed General Agent in 2003. I especially enjoy coaching and inspiring others to grow and flourish through meeting tough challenges. My mission, “To dramatically impact the lives of others”, drives our systems and 140 associates. I believe it is important to inspire people to always dream bigger, and I would like to be remembered as someone who truly gave more than I received. Mentors and colleagues such as Starr Barnum and Gary Kinder taught me how to live my life, how to love my life and maintain my faith". From them, I learned that as a leader I should empower others and make myself obsolete. Another colleague, Kelli McCauley, told me something that has helped me gain perspective when times are tough: "The world is not messed up; you are. Be OK with it. You are unique". I grew up in central New York and graduated from Washington & Jefferson College with a B.A. in history and business. I enjoy spending time with my three children: Samantha, Alexander and Christian. My hobbies include golf, travel, and classic cars. I have dedicated myself to our charitable foundation "The Vermont Agency Foundation" whose mission is “To dramatically impact the lives of children”.
