When I first "retired" in 2022, I quickly became immersed in volunteer activities and being a grandparent. I obtained my Professional Lifeguard certification and became a lifeguard at our local pool. I then started working with 4th and 5th graders at a noon recreation program at our local school, which then led to being a 5th grade teacher's aide. I continued being an escort at Planned Parenthood, walking the clients past the protesters, being a buffer and a comfort to those at the clinic. I am using my expertise in understanding insurance policies, specifically those serving the non-profit community, to review the insurance policies, the by-laws and to solve insurance and indemnity issues. My gift is the ability to explain how insurance coverage works and how the interplay of claims with the various lines of insurance impacts those that I serve.I am still working with Nonprofits Insurance Alliance of California and Alliance of Nonprofits for Insurance, Risk Retention Group, but now as a consultant. I am continuing to assist with onboarding new examiners and analysts, as well as addressing the complex coverage issues which require my level of experience and history with NIA. I led the coverage team as a Senior Partner for Archer Norris, mentoring and educating lawyers about insurance coverage. Together we were able to provide the correct coverage analysis for our clients, while building an insurance coverage practice across California. Our coverage group was recruited by the Recorder to write the California Insurance Law handbook, published in 2015, a handbook tailored as a resource for the insurance professional. I am an AV-rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell.
