I am a U.S. and global energy advisor and retired energy transaction lawyer with over 40 years' experience in advising on energy, infrastructure and resource investments, mergers and acquisitions, project development and project finance, and business strategies, particularly in emerging markets.I have extensive experience in strategic planning, market analysis, emerging market risk assessment, mergers and acquisitions, privatization, energy project development and transaction implementation, and in contracting strategies. At ESA, built and managed Enron's first multi-disciplinary legal department in an emerging market, with 16 Enron attorneys and 24 joint Enron venture attorneys, resident in Enron offices in Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Cuiaba, Buenos Aires, Santa Cruz, and Houston. This legal group provided integrated legal support for all Enron business units active in the Southern Cone between1998 through 2001, including natural gas, electric power and broadband units and their associated legal/regulatory compliance functions.
