I'm Randi Mitchell, currently Executive Director of Curriculum and Professional Development at the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind, Professional Learning Specialist for NCCE, and a Part-Time Instructor at Flagler College. My first five years in education, I used creative and innovative methods to teach Kindergarten before pursuing her passion in professional development and educational technology. I am one of the faces behind FSDB Pineapple PD, an initiative at the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind that opens the walls of the classrooms so viewers can see tools, strategies, and teaching methods happening on campus in a 2-3 minute video. I have trained across my school's campus, virtually across the state of Florida for Research Material Technology Center (RMTC-D/HH) and presented at conferences such as: Florida Educators of Deaf and Hard of Hearing (FEDHH), Assistive Technology Industry Association (ATIA), Florida Council of Instructional Technology (FCITL), Conference of Educational Administrators of Schools and Programs for the Deaf (CEASD), National Outreach Conference (NOC), and National Deaf Education Conference (NDEC). Topics include: ASL/English Bilingual strategies, Technology Implementation and Engagement, or how to develop video Professional Development and Social Media presence similar to FSDB Pineapple PD.
