- Volunteered for both my children in their classrooms and for school-wide events, beginning when my first child started kindergarten. In-Classroom: Supported teachers at elementary, middle, and high school levels as needed, such as leading group book clubs, editing student writing & assisting in robotics projects. School-Wide Events: Supported parents' groups, such as volunteering with the annual Chinese New Year festival, marching band rehearsals, and school library textbook maintenance.- School Board Defense Organizer from 2022-24: Helped organize and lead an effort to defend the school board against organized groups seeking to undermine public school education in our community. Participating in an Innovation Lab to develop a program called Kindness Ambassadors. Working with a local nonprofit Ben’s Bells to facilitate a kindness mural project at a local middle school. The idea is to leverage the nonprofit’s proven methods of modeling the language of kindness in schools in order to spread kindness and civility throughout the community.
