Every career journey begins from somewhere and leads us towards our purpose. As an Indigenous woman, I have always been guided by my identity, and it has been my driving force throughout my career. I am passionate about helping people and my community, hence I have worked as a Community Arts leader for a Non-Profit, an Adjunct Professor teaching Indigenous studies and Fine Art, and as a Project Manager for a community literacy program for Indigenous students. Throughout my journey, I have understood the importance of leadership, and how it can impact the team. I believe in leading with compassion and empathy, and connecting with people on a deeper level. My creativity and ability to think outside the box have allowed me to build teams and community programs that cater to the needs of the people. As a leader, I am continuously learning about mindfulness and psychological leadership, and how it can help people grow. I have also had the privilege of working with other DEI leaders to build a DEI mission and council for a large corporation. My passion for community, wellness, mental health, DEI, the arts, and my Indigenous youth has brought me full circle on this journey. I believe in creating an environment for innovative thinking, identifying gaps, and providing support to help people succeed. My journey has taught me that with the right mindset, anything is possible, and I hope to inspire others to follow their passions and make a positive impact on the world.
