Provide day-to-day legal and regulatory counsel to senior management of VNSNY family of corporations on a variety of matters, including: HIPAA, the Family Health Care Decision Act, Medicare and NYS CoPs, the Affordable Care Act and the Medicare Advantage marketing, delegated entity, and compliance program requirements. Draft and negotiate contracts between the CHHA and hospitals and assisted living facilities; management and administrative service agreements between the MLTCP and partners to support geographical expansion; agreements between technology companies and VNSNY to improve aspects of operations and enhance compliance; managed care contracts between the CHHA, PC and hospice and managed care organizations. Counsel agency staff on patient and care-delivery issues; advise with respect to matters of patient admission, discharge and difficult to service patients. Perform investigations into compliance concerns and draft self-disclosures when needed.
