Serving patrons, where they are, informs everything I do at Ridgewood Public Library. I help patrons find, evaluate and use information; provide tech support; and keep Reference Desk statistics. I am the Lead for the World Language Collection, and the Lead for Veterans programming. I am part of the Library of Things team and have played a key role in transitioning to a new object reservation system. I am the Lead in our Library of Things Petting Zoo - an initiative that will increase our patrons' informal exposure to our wonderful objects. I am also the Lead for our Dementia Friendly Library Initiative. In this role I have gathered multiple community partners, researched and directed the implementation of Dementia Friendly materials, and will continue to manage the work through our public launch in October. This work is very rewarding!

Part time reference work at my local public library gives me the opportunity to support patrons with tech use; information seeking, evaluation, and use; and programming. I also maintain Reference Desk records. I minimized my role here to address a significant family health event (everyone is ok now!), but very much enjoy and valued my work time at BPL.

I liked and valued everything about this role – talented colleagues, supportive manager, and inspiring corporate mission - but the fully remote work-style was not right for me. I resigned to find a hybrid or in person position.

Working in Circulation gave me a chance to welcome and serve patrons. This position was part of my transition out of college teaching and into my own academic work. I assisted patrons by making cards, finding books, and enabling tech materials. I also shelved, picked, and processed materials for interlibrary loans.

Teaching at NJIT was an amazing experience because I could use my skill set to develop talented STEM students. It is a highly diverse environment and I worked to empower all students in argumentative and research communication. Here, my excellent tech skills were stretched to both support and be integrated into the classroom experience.

Bloomfield College was a diverse, welcoming private liberal arts college, now part of Montclair State University. My work there began with math instruction, expanded to include introductory and mid level economics, and then focused on first year writing. I instructed and raised the voices of talented students in academic and research writing. While there I earned my certification to develop and teach online classes. Technology powered much of this work.

I undertook the MSEd.so I could learn the science of teaching and learning. The Duquesne program was exceptional because of its focus.

I have a natural interest in economics and really enjoyed this program. My thesis was a quantitative study of the effect of exports on GDP.
