Teaching Assistant/Tutor Personal Fitness Trainer ProgramCity Colleges Of Chicago-Malcolm X College Sep 2021 - PresentI provide students with tutoring and instructional support to prepare them to sit for and pass the ACE Personal Trainer Certification Exam. I tutor in-person and remotely, am embedded in the virtual classroom, assist students in the exercise lab, create handouts clarifying important and challenging topics, and provide opportunities for practical experience.Malcolm X College is a Minority-Serving Institution (MSI) in which over ninety percent of the students are of color, over sixty percent are female, and over one percent are students with disabilities. MXC serves students from Chicago’s limited-income community areas, including Austin, East Garfield Park, Humboldt Park, Lower West Side, Near West Side, North Lawndale, and West Garfield Park. Although MXC students are eager to continue their education and carve out meaningful careers, far too many face challenges that will impede their ability to persist with their studies. Focused and individualized attention can have a positive impact on these students. Because many higher-ed instructors, especially those working in gloriously diverse institutions like MXC, rarely have the luxury of time or the bottomless well of energy necessary to provide this kind of assistance to each student, a robust Academic Support Center can help create an anthropogonic structure that reaches every student within an institution. -

I not only teach children what vegetables do for our bodies and minds, but also give them and their families the skills needed to incorporate vegetables into their lives forever.
