    I took the summer off from accounting, and returned to my teaching roots. I taught two sessions of summer reading classes to students from PreK through adult. It was a wonderful summer of watching beginning readers make their start in the world of words, and teaching older students to enhance their reading experience at every level. Seeing students "catch" what I'm teaching has always been one of my greatest thrills, and the summer was full of those moments. The training provided by the Institute for Reading Development was the best I've ever experienced, and the quality of materials they provided is second to none. They gave me all the tools I needed to take my students farther than they - or their parents - thought they could go in such a short time. I was sorry to see the summer end, but grateful for the opportunity to touch the lives of readers in such a significant way.
