Randi is the Founder/Owner of For Future Reference, the industry’s premiere U.S. brand development agency representing independent fine jewelry designers for both wholesale and PR. She leads all aspects of marketing, branding and public relations for all clients, overseeing creative and day-to-day management of editorial voice, visual presentations, trade shows, advertising, celebrity and brand collateral for global markets. The creation of For Future Reference follows 3 years as the U.S. Director of Marketing for Gemfields -- the London-based mining and marketing company that is the world’s leading supplier of responsibly-sourced rare colored gemstones -- where Randi was responsible for overseeing all domestic marketing initiatives for the Company, including strategic planning, budgeting, events, partnerships and media placement. She worked closely with the Company’s CEO, COO and Global Director of Marketing to execute Gemfields’ international corporate and business strategies, including a multi-million dollar celebrity ad campaign, the creation of capsule collections and one-of-a-kind pieces with notable jewelry brands, and language and visuals that became the basis of the Company’s global image. Randi started her career as the Fashion Editor of National Jeweler magazine, at that time a twice-monthly print trade publication focused on the U.S. fine jewelry industry. Her position took her around the world reporting on designers, trends, retailers, gemstones, metals, mines and the world of fashion, offering her an entrée into a rarefied world of creatives and collectors. In 2005 she was commissioned to write “A Girl’s Guide to Buying Diamonds” as the female self-purchase market exploded, leading to creative partnerships with industry organizations like A Diamond is Forever, the marketing arm of DeBeers. She began her entrepreneurial path then, consulting for jewelry houses and branching out into online retailing and merchandising as the Chief Curator of Portero, a forerunner of the online pre-owned luxury landscape. With a proven track record as a manager and company executive, Randi’s exceptional eye for aesthetics, including styling, advertising concepts, brand strategy, merchandising and business development has made her an authoritative voice on global consumer trends.
