I created internal company metric dashboards, which included understanding, developing metric definitions, pulling data between different softwares using Google App Scripts, data visualisation in Google sheets, and creating metric reports..I also project managed, developed and created an internal CRM in Coda (a collaborative doc which incorporates tables, actions and views all in one place). This included extracting and developing requirements from internal stakeholders, managing team members, developing solutions using Coda’s in-built formula and features, integrating external software packs, along with using the agile methodology to get constant feedback on the docs UX and UI.

Coda is a collaborative doc which incorporates tables, actions and views all in one place.The project brief was to create a knowledge base table that enabled filtering, reporting and automations, but still behaved like an article based doc. I managed the project incorporating the agile methodology for fast, effective, and communicative sprints. I used Coda's in-built formula and packs to build my solution, and the doc was released in a month.

A Research Associate working on the "Palaeoecology of early vertebrates".The role included organising and participating in fieldwork in the Canadian Arctic during July 2018. This included prospecting for fossiliferous horizons, identifying early vertebrate fossils, collecting rock and fossil samples, labelling, creating an inventory and packing of specimens to transported to the UK. Once back in the UK, I processed rock samples in acid to extract vertebrate fossils, then picked and taxonomically identified the microvertebrates, along with preparing macrofossils for photographing for publication

K-Pg Mass Extinction Leverhulme project The project broadly aimed to assesses the effects of mass extinctions on biodiversity focusing on marine vertebrates from the Phosphates of Morocco. The project aimed to identify victims, survivors and subsequently the severity of the K-Pg mass extinction using taxic and functional diversity. I focused on a taxonomic description, phylogeny and ecomorphospace provenance of a new species of Maastrichtian fish. Other duties include running the weekly lab and discussion groups, supervision of PhD and undergraduate students, prepping Cretaceous fossil fish material, assisting in the construction of a new fossil storage unit along with curation of vertebrate fossils.

Armoured jawless vertebrates (ostracoderms) dominated vertebrate assemblages in the early history of the clade and seen within the group is the first appearance of many vertebrate innovations. My PhD focused on reconstructing the evolutionary relationships and macroevolutionary patterns of the Heterostraci - the largest group of ostracoderms. The project included exploring different coding techniques for phylogenetic analysis, stratigraphic congruence, assessing the quality of their fossil record and diversity dynamics of the group in relation to abiotic and biotic drivers i.e. sea level and predation pressures.

Facilitating learning and engagement of students by demonstrating in a variety of undergraduate level lab practicals, including a ‘Diversity of Life’ practical, which involved developing students microscope skills using the paramecium, ‘Algae for Biofuel’, in which we subjected algae to different nitrogen conditions, then used a spectrometer to look at the response of chlorophyll to the experimental conditions, ‘Embryology’ practical in which we dissected out a two day chicken embryo then experimented on the formation of arcualia, ‘histological staining’ of notochords to distinguish the different tissue types, microbiology staining and identification, computational approaches to biology mainly using python.

Demonstrating involved presenting a plankton lecture along with the plankton practical and leading a group of students in the field and supervising their group project - including sand hopper behaviour and barnacle feeding. Italy is an alpine biology and diversity field course, this involved development of students field skills and individual project conception, designed, implementation and analysis.
