Hello everyone! 👋My name is Leon Chen and I am starting my social enterprise next year in 2025 (finally... for those who talked to me before haha). Currently, I am in the ideation and planning stage, working on validating my idea.With a background in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and an interest in gaming, I bring a unique blend of skills and perspectives to the table. My strengths involve a combination of multidisciplinary problem-solving, gamification, and first principles thinking.Multidisciplinary Problem Solving:I believe in learning from diverse fields, identifying patterns, and synthesizing solutions. This approach has consistently yielded successful outcomes in my previous roles and projects. The more I delve into various disciplines, the more I discover overlapping principles that can enhance the success rate of solutions. An official term might be associative thinking.Gamification:While my competitive gaming adventures might not have yielded outstanding results, they paved the way for a valuable discovery: gamification. Contemplating the application of game design techniques in an environmental sustainability mobile app led me to stumble upon gamification. I subsequently applied these concepts in my honors thesis. The current framework I use is Octalysis Framework by Yu-kai Chou. First Principles Thinking:When it comes to making decisions, I stick to the basics. I ground my choices in facts while staying open to insights from others. Psychology, especially ABA, forms the core of my analytical approach. I'm constantly blending insights from different fields to broaden my perspectives.Although I have many ideas, I will initially focus on three key areas: 1. Orphans or children from low-income families2. Elderly 3. Environmental sustainabilityThese areas will be linked to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to address specific needs in Malaysia.
