About Rui Andrade

With over five years in software engineering, I'm dedicated to creating impactful solutions. Anything that requires me to get in deep and to understand the nuances of how things work... is fun :) Currently at Sky Portugal, I develop backend services that help power streaming platforms like Peacock, SkyShowtime and NOW TV, serving millions of users across the world. Previously at LudusCristaltec - part of the Cristaltec group, one of the leaders in the Casino and Gaming industry in Italy -, I was part of the team who created and enhanced a custom-built game development framework, including a proprietary programming language that was created in-house, a multi-platform game engine for Linux and for the web, and accompanying build pipelines and release processes. Earlier, my research at Universidade do Porto into compilers, parsers, and software verification helped set the foundations to take on that work.My passion lies in leveraging diverse technologies to drive innovation and robust user experiences, by developing high quality performant software.
