Randy Wilson is a Database Administration lead for DB2/LUW on AIX Power systems. He works for BCBSTN which is a healthcare insurance provider where he is responsible for technical architecture and implementation of all aspects of over 800 databases for enterprise solutions. He works on transactional, data mart, and multi-partitioned warehouses in the DB2/LUW arena and helps direct platform decisions with environments for multi-terabyte solutions utilizing this technology.Randy has 24+ years experience with Db2, working in data warehouse solutions, along with 12 years mainframe systems programming for entire data center. He is an expert in maintaining, administering and tuning database systems through all phases of deployment and troubleshooting all components involved in database performance.Randy is a member of IBM's Technical Advisory Board for Db2 and is an active participant, providing advice to other customers using Db2.Randy has participated in multiple conferences, speaking at various sessions, IM Keynote for IOD 2013 and other sessions on Data warehouse innovations, both within USA and abroad. Randy is also a member of a team that received an IBM innovation award for data warehousing and data integration and has participated in various Beta testing programs. He also holds an IBM Advanced Database Administrator-DB2 for Linux, Unix and Windows Certification. Randy is a thought leader, driving change to move forward with new methodologies to continue performance and efficient processing. He is an active IBM Data Champion, working within the community to help others. He's been interviewed by Gartner and Harvard Research Group as an SME for multiple surveys. He is very active in forming partnerships between IT and various analytical departments to help deliver high speed results with leading edge technologies.
