CREICO wanted to increase occupancy in its 49 mobile home communities across nine states, but lacked buyer financing. Created in-house finance company and raised capital needed to fund it. Created $18M in receivables, including $4.5M in additional annual revenue for the company.

Controller Led day-to-day Accounting and Finance for startup luxury cruise-train tours company. Oversaw banking relations, cash control, payroll, 401k, AP/AR, reporting, budgeting and forecasting. Directed HR, Administration, etc. Managed $2.6M budget and two direct reports.Highlight: Formalized accounting functions. Start up, American Orient Express, lacked established accounting systems, as well as policies and procedures. Researched and implemented needed processes and software. Developed integrated IT and HR. Provided timely, accurate financials and reporting, as well as high-tech communications.

Ascended quickly to positions of increasing responsibility for this $450M national restaurant chain operator. Helped lead the growth of Village Inn and Bakers Square properties.Highlight: Seized opportunity to reduce overhead. Needed to consolidate home offices for Vicorp's Village Inn and Bakers Square restaurants. Analyzed general and administrative overhead costs, identifying areas for improvement. Recommended cost-saving actions, creating a $12M (32%) actual savings in G&A overhead.Highlight: Revamped POS system. VICORP's POS program needed updating as it could not produce real-time data. Oversaw research, development, testing and rollout of new, in-house designed system using touch screen technology, and selected hardware platform. Extended application to PC-based labor productivity reporting system and others. Saved company millions of dollars in equipment, food and labor costs.
