Software EngineerMotorola Solutions May 2022 - Aug 2022Salt Lake County, Utah, United StatesI worked on a project that aimed to automate the troubleshooting of client servers by support staff and centralize historical performance analysis. We ultimately decided to build upon a legacy background service that gathered customer data to be stored to an internal SQL data lake. The changes we made included expanding the data collected to encompass all customer configurations, collecting performance data, and adding historical tracking for changes in the database. We then built and deployed a dotnet REST API that provided easy access to our new expanded database. In the final stretch of the internship we were also tasked with supervising the development of a React web app that displayed historical client data by connecting to our database API. Additionally I was able to find and fix major bugs in the legacy system that prevented proper processing of collected data. -
