• Led initiation of update of Amgen IS Quality Management Systems (QMS) and processes
• Worked cross-functionally to expand virtual model for IS Staffing to Manufacturing sites. The model accelerated delivery and reliability, provided essential on site staffing while allowing leverage across sites and.
• Led identifying and solving application performance problems at sites using WAN accelerators. Performance improvements across sites ranged from 5 to 60 fold.

• Responsibilities included managing all IT for Amgen’s 4 Research sites outside Corporate headquarters &delivering both corporate and Research IT solutions.
• Envisioned & implemented virtual team model for IS Staffing across R&D sites. The model accelerated delivery and reliability, reduced staffing cost by 50%, & provided global program opportunities to site staff.
• Delivered multiple acquisition integrations & site expansions. Hired site IS leadership and staff for new and acquired sites and leveraged virtual model to meet multiple simultaneous site growth demands.
• Fully integrated IT for multiple acquisitions including integration & conversion of data and systems, restructuring server, network, and phone environments, & integrating organization into Amgen’s model.
• Envisioned & led corporate effort to define and deliver new audio and video conferencing capability as well as “telepresence” for both improved speed of research and travel time and cost savings.

• Global Director for Material Sciences and a member of the New Business Development Growth Leadership Team. My responsibilities included management of Dow’s Material Sciences organization for development of new material.
• Model and product design for plastics appearance matching that allowed automotive manufacturers to ensure that different types of interior plastics had the same color and appearance, winning $700 million in new business.
• Solution that provided differentiated elastic fiber for the clothing market that had superior temperature and chemical resistance as well as reduced cost, improved fiber performance, and increased line speed.
• Expanded successful rapid product design pilot to include all Dow Plastics, Electronics, and Automotive businesses to successfully deliver numerous new products.
• Led creation of new business opportunities based on break through or unique combinations of Dow proprietary technologies both for existing businesses and new businesses either for Dow or to create value through other.
