For the past 11 years, I have been employed as a laboratory technician at Affymetrix in Warrensville Heights, Ohio. I have gained a great deal of experience over this time. I am a team player and look forward to joining your group. I have been a leader as a coordinator. In addition to my extensive experience in industry, I have an A.A.S. degree in Bioscience Technology. The Biotechnology Science program at Lakeland is a two-year degree program that trains students to work in laboratories engaged in biotechnology. The program is a science intensive course of study. I have taken a year of general chemistry, general biology, and microbiology from the science departments. Within the Biotechnology department, I took a general lab skills course, Biochemistry, Advanced Molecular Separations (primarily chromatography), Recombinant DNA Technology, Applied Microbiology, Manufacturing Processes and Tissue Culture. Techniques experienced include DNA restriction analysis, cloning, immunoblot, ELISA, PCR, HPLC, transfection, transformation, fermentation, and maintenance of mammalian cell lines. My experiences at Affymetrix included training in Standard Operating Procedures, Formulation, PCR Analysis, and DNA/RNA extraction.
