Randy Davis, known as 'The Accidental HIV Activist,' is a passionate advocate for HIV awareness and support based in Barrie, Ontario. Following his diagnosis in 2015, Davis confronted feelings of shame and isolation. Determined not to be silenced by stigma, he sought care and became a vocal advocate to empower others living with HIV.Davis has been deeply involved in HIV-related work, first serving as Gay Men’s Sexual Health Coordinator at a Barrie-based AIDS service organization, followed by his role as Communications Manager for the Canadian AIDS Society. Most recently, he took his advocacy a step further by launching InclusHIV Consulting, his own firm dedicated to promoting inclusive approaches to HIV care.As the creator of the 'I Can Give U' campaign, a social media initiative, Davis aims to dispel myths around HIV and champion the U=U message (Undetectable = Untransmittable). This campaign educates the public that individuals with an undetectable viral load cannot transmit the virus, reducing fear and promoting understanding. Randy also hosts 'Let's Be Perfectly Queer,' a television and YouTube series, where he discusses HIV awareness and 2SLGBTQ+ topics, furthering public education and engagement.Active in organizations like the Ontario AIDS Network and the Canadian Coalition to Reform HIV Criminalization, Davis also serves as an ambassador for CANFAR (the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research), contributing to national efforts to raise awareness and reduce HIV stigma. Through his widespread social media presence as 'The Accidental HIV Activist,' Randy continues to share his story, raise awareness, and fight for equitable access to HIV care.
