Designed and purchased CCTV, fire / life safety, intrusion alarm systems, access control systems, and related equipment for each center. Chaired inventory shortage committee, conducted and supervised internal investigations. Heavily involved in safety and workers compensation programs. Developed strategic plans for the growth of the department within Target’s Asset Protection pyramid.In addition worked through special projects at the company level which included: collaborating to design trailer tracking devices resulting in stopping serious trailer hi-jacking trend in Souther California; actively participated in committees with ASIS and Cargo Security Council; consulting with design of our Central Returns Center; consulting design, validation, and administration of our pre-employment screening processes for the Assets Protection pyramid and other positions considered to be sensitive in nature;

For the initial stores personally handled staffing, training, store Assets Protection office and administration set-up along with establishing the District Office administrative support. Direct reports included salaried Assets Protection Leaders in each location and two elevated executive Area investigators. Also responsible for team of store detectives averaging 2 per store location through the market.Achievements included: Successful opening and market entry for Assets Protection teams, processes, and routines. Established credibility along with strong collaborative relationships between Assets Protection and Stores Leadership. Recognized and received award for Assets Protection Excellence as a result of apprehension results related to internal theft, external theft, and vendors. Participated in Southeast Regional Stock Shortage committees and task force projects through assignment.

Position overseeing all investigations of employees for stores located in Houston, East Texas, and Louisiana. Role also involved staffing and leading a team of store detectives for coverage of all assigned stores, this team consisted of 28 to 30 direct reports.

Established supportive relationships in the stores between Assets Protection and Store Management. Hired and managed store detectives and uniform guards. Store teams produced high number of apprehensions both internal and external while avoiding exposure due to unproductive customer contact.
