    In Nov 2013 I incorporated Targa Contracting (2013) Ltd. In our second and 3rd year of business we have been recognized as one of the top 500 of the fastest growing companies in Canada and expect to make the list again in 2018. This did not come easy given the significant decline in skilled labor and experienced management personnel over the same period. Today Targa is a successful mid-sized civil company with over $20 mil in sales employing 65 permanent full time staff. While building and restructuring the company I continue to go back to my roots of estimating and project managing key developments with select clients. This keeps me up to date on current trends and innovation within our industry and is essential to grow in today’s climate where technology continues to advance both efficiency and productivity. Having gone through initial building pains with forming a new company it was now time to re-structure on what has proven to be a solid foundation. We use what we consider to be the best software for quantity surveying, estimating and soon to be field reporting. We are on the final stages of structuring our estimating software proprietary to the work we do which will double the number of bids we can prepare with no increase in staff. Once completed, it will be integrated with the best available field reporting software that will allow paperless time cards, production recording, daily diaries and accurate forecasting that can be communicated to head office in real time. It will make us a leader, not a follower. My former experience profile said “Expect Targa Contracting (2013) Ltd to become a well known name and significant player in the local construction market”. Today I am comfortable saying that our name is now well known.
